Roaring 20s Here We Come!
Here we are, kicking off the second full week of the 2nd Roaring 20s. A lot of people make resolutions and set goals for the new year. I also like to set a word for the year.
I can’t say that the word stays at the top of my mind all year, nor that I reach many of my goals in any given year, but I still love the exercise of examining the past year and looking forward to the next.
I typically try to take off the full week between Christmas and New Year’s if I can. I use this time to journal and review some worksheets and questionnaires I’ve gathered over the years. I look at things like what worked well and what good memories do I have from the previous year, but also what did not work well.
This year’s word is: Audacious. Which I am defining as:
Living fearless of others opinions
confidently from my own mind
and joyfully in my right now body.
Allowing myself to expand mentally
and emotionally
and start taking up ALL my space.
Some of my Biggest 2020 Goals:
Continue building a healthy lifestyle for Mr. Sparky and I. He has been a Type 2 diabetic for years and I was just diagnosed with it last October. So, we’ve been trying to work on our food, but the holidays make that pretty tough. We’re about to buy a treadmill, so that will help a lot. I have my first follow up with my doc this week, so we’ll see what my A1C looks like this time around.
Focus more time and energy on writing. Work daily on creating new content and new stories. Build up my Patreon page, where I post my funnier material for a nominal monthly fee. Submit my pieces to more short story contests. And edit my completed novels so I can submit them to agents and try to get them published. So, not much.
Plenty of personal goals as well. Be better about our budget and conscientious about how we spend money. Train our fur babies better. Do well at our day jobs. Spend time with family and friends. Figure out some time to maybe do a game night on a regular basis. Go on more adventures as a couple. Enjoy each other more. Mostly typical stuff. 😉
How about you? Do you have any goals?
